Experimonth 2010 - the schedule
Having the remaining 11 months chosen, I ended up putting a good deal of thought into ordering these experiments. Some things, like working on a creative project for 2 hours a day, mapped easily onto other things that I already wanted to do. Others seemed to match to a particular time of year. I also wanted to take advantage of automaticity - research shows that after 66 days something is as much of a habit as it ever will be. So February actually complements March and April complements May, at least in my mind.
jaNEWary - drive on unfamiliar roads and/or to towns you’ve never visited
February - cook & eat a hot breakfast every morning
March - enter a competitive event that requires training
April - learn to cook a new cuisine
May - don’t buy any food with more than 5 ingredients, unpronouncable ingredients, or cartoon packaging
June - do something nice for a complete stranger
July - no internet/TV/iphone/electronic media after 9 pm
August - read a short story/essay/poem by a different author every day
September - write a review of something every day
October - dance 15 minutes a day
November - spend two hours a day on one creative project
December - write in a journal every day
